Hi! I'm Jamie Cardamone, and while I am a Registered Social Worker (BSW, RSW), I am first and foremost a mom myself. I have two wonderful children, a son and daughter, and I am an auntie to nieces and nephews (that I love to spoil endlessly!). My family is everything to me, and the photos I use on my website are actually photos of the children in my personal life (with permission, of course!).
In my professional life I have nearly two decades of experience supporting youth and families through complex challenges and high-pressure environments. My career has taken me from group care to frontline child intervention, to youth addictions and mental health inpatient programs, and most recently to the emergency department mental health team at a Children’s Hospital. These experiences have grounded my practice in a deep understanding of trauma, relational needs, and the systemic barriers families often face.
I believe meaningful change begins with connection. Whether I’m supporting a young person in crisis, collaborating with Children’s Services, navigating FSCD supports with a caregiver, or helping a family make sense of mental health and addiction resources, my approach is always trauma-informed, strengths-based, and centered on dignity, compassion, and cultural humility. Relationship-building has been at the heart of my practice since my very first practicum in group care, and it remains the foundation of the work I do today.
My expertise spans family and youth-specific crisis intervention, system navigation, advocacy, assessment, safety planning, and collaborative problem-solving. I’ve supported youth with complex biopsychosocial needs, facilitated case conferences and cultural practices, coordinated inpatient admissions, and led multidisciplinary teams through challenging situations. These experiences have shaped my commitment to walking alongside families—not just as a service provider, but as a steady, respectful partner in their journey.
Above all, I’m passionate about helping youth and families feel seen, supported, and empowered. My goal is to bridge gaps, reduce barriers, and create pathways where young people and caregivers can move forward with clarity, confidence, and connection.
