Meet Your Social Worker

About Me

Hi! I'm Jamie Cardamone. While I am a Registered Social Worker (BSW, RSW, CTP), I am first and foremost a mom. I have two wonderful children — a son and a daughter — and I am also an auntie to nieces and nephews I love to spoil endlessly. Family is at the center of my world, and many of the photos you’ll see on my website are of the children in my personal life (shared with permission).

Professionally, I bring nearly two decades of experience supporting youth and families through complex challenges and high-pressure environments. My work has spanned group care, frontline Child Intervention, youth addictions and mental health inpatient programs, and most recently the emergency department mental health team at a Children’s Hospital. These experiences have grounded my practice in a deep understanding of trauma, attachment needs, crisis response, and the systemic barriers families often face when trying to access meaningful support.

I have completed advanced certification as a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), with specialized training in trauma assessment, stabilization, memory processing, and recovery-focused interventions. This training integrates evidence-based approaches including EMDR-informed strategies, cognitive behavioral trauma interventions, somatic regulation techniques, and narrative approaches to help clients move from survival patterns toward lasting healing and post-traumatic growth.

I believe meaningful change begins with connection. Whether I am supporting a young person in crisis, collaborating with Children’s Services, navigating FSCD supports with caregivers, or helping families make sense of mental health and addiction systems, my approach remains trauma-informed, strengths-based, and grounded in dignity, compassion, and cultural humility. Relationship-building has been at the heart of my practice since my very first practicum in group care — and it continues to guide every interaction today.

My expertise includes youth and family crisis intervention, system navigation, advocacy, biopsychosocial assessment, safety planning, and collaborative problem-solving. I have supported youth with highly complex needs, facilitated multidisciplinary case conferences, coordinated inpatient admissions, and helped families navigate moments of significant uncertainty and risk. These experiences have shaped my commitment to walking alongside families — not only as a clinician, but as a steady and respectful partner.

Above all, I am passionate about helping youth and families feel seen, supported, and empowered. My goal is to reduce barriers, bridge service gaps, and create pathways where young people and caregivers can move forward with greater clarity, confidence, and connection.

Trust is earned when actions meet words
